Privacy Policy
Effective May 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Alarm Code ("the app"), made by Sonora Labs ("we", "us"), handles your information. We built Alarm Code to be private by default. The short version is simple: we do not collect, sell, rent, or transmit your personal data, and there are no user accounts. Almost everything the app does happens entirely on your device.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, browsing history, or any advertising identifiers. We do not use third-party analytics or tracking software. We do not build a profile of you, and we have no servers that store your personal information.
Information stored on your device
To work as an alarm, the app saves some information locally on your iPhone. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us or to anyone else:
- Your alarms, including times, repeat days, labels, and chosen sounds.
- Your stoppers, meaning the identifier of an NFC tag or the value of a barcode you pair with an alarm, so the app can recognize the correct code when you scan to silence it.
- Your wake history, a local record of which mornings you got up and scanned, used to show your streak and wake rate.
- Your settings, such as vibration and mute preferences.
Because this information lives only on your device, deleting the app removes it.
Device permissions we request
The app asks for a few iOS permissions, each used only for its stated purpose:
- Notifications and alarms: used to ring your alarm and present it on the lock screen, including through Silent Mode and Focus on supported versions of iOS. Nothing about your notifications is sent to us.
- NFC: used to read an NFC tag so the app can confirm you scanned the correct one to silence the alarm. The tag identifier is stored on your device only.
- Camera: used to scan a product barcode as a way to silence the alarm. The camera feed is processed on your device to read the code. We do not store photos or send any camera data anywhere.
- Background audio: used to keep the alarm reliable while your phone is locked or the app is in the background. No audio is recorded.
In-app purchases
Alarm Code offers optional in-app purchases that unlock premium features. Payments are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. We receive only the information Apple provides to confirm whether a purchase was completed or restored, which the app uses to unlock premium features on your device.
Third-party services
The current version of the app does not share your data with third-party services, and does not contain advertising. If we add features in the future that involve a third party, for example optional analytics or advertising, we will update this policy first and request any permission iOS requires, such as the App Tracking Transparency prompt, before any such feature is active.
Children
Alarm Code is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Because the app does not collect personal data from anyone, there is no children's data for us to hold.
Your control and your rights
You are in full control. All of your data is on your device, so you can delete any alarm, tag, or your entire history from within the app, and removing the app deletes everything it stored. Since we do not hold personal data about you on our side, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will revise the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, note the change in the app. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
